Buy rate versus sell rate

The buy rate is the price at which the Partner buys currency from you - that is how many zloty you get for handing the currency over. The sell rate is the price at which the Partner sells currency to you - that is how many zloty it takes to acquire it.

The gap between those two numbers is the spread, the Partner margin on the transaction. Spreads and commissions are set by the Partner and shown in its panel before you confirm the exchange; MS Trade has no influence over them.

About the euro

The euro is the shared currency of the euro area and the second reserve currency of the world after the dollar. It is issued by the European Central Bank, with notes and coins put into circulation by the national central banks.

For the Polish market the euro is the reference currency: most foreign trade is settled in it, and the EUR/PLN rate is widely read as a gauge of sentiment towards the zloty.
